about my teaching

At Be Yoga, I trained in ISHTA Yoga. An acronym for the Integrated System of Hatha, Tantra and Ayurveda, ISHTA teaching combines a transformative experience of breath and flowing asana (vinyasa) with anatomically-based alignment for a safe, supportive exploration of breath and body. Tantric philosophy and Ayurvedic principles create a personalized practice that is sensitive to the individual, encouraging each student to find their own yoga with acceptance, curiosity and joy. I blend challenging asana with resting and restorative poses for a well-balanced class that combines physical awareness, strength-building and flexibility with humor, mindfulness and relaxation. Accessible yogic philosophy, pranayama and meditation broaden the practice and incorporate its transcendent aspects. With over 5 years and 1,500 hours' teaching experience from “power yoga” to brand-new beginners, I love aiding all practitioners in finding their yoga, breath by breath and moment by moment.

My background in the arts, science and world religion means that music, philosophy and scientific tidbits make their way into my classes; and my ongoing studies with my primary teachers ensure I am always bringing new ideas and inspiration to my students!
